TippyTalk is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) application designed for individuals of all age groups who face challenges with speaking, stemming from conditions like aphasia, nonverbal autism, stroke, apraxia, Down syndrome, ALS, and various speech and language disorders.
Through the use of TippyTalk, those who are non-verbal or have speech impairments can utilize pictorial prompts to compose and transmit messages to acquaintances and family members via their mobile devices. Subsequently, recipients can choose to respond using video, images, audio snippets, or text that can be read aloud.
In addition, TippyTalk doubles as a text-to-speech (TTS) tool, ensuring that messages can be audibly relayed to anyone in the immediate vicinity.
An essential feature of TippyTalk involves customization facilitated by a Manager—often a parent or another family member. Managers tailor the application with visual representations of the TippyTalk user's preferred items, such as eateries, toys, locations, animals, foods, and pastimes. The individual using TippyTalk can then select these graphical representations to construct uncomplicated sentences.
What sets TippyTalk apart is its distinctive attributes—its uniqueness, affordability, and user-friendly interface—that cater to the communication needs of non-verbal or speech-impaired individuals across all age brackets.
The two operational modes within TippyTalk play distinct roles: the TIPPYTALK COMMUNITY mode serves as a hub for both the assisting parent/family member and the extended network of friends and relatives engaging with the TippyTalk user. The TIPPYTALKER mode is exclusively designated for the non-verbal or speech-impaired individual.
If intending to assist a TippyTalk user through the application, one assumes the role of Manager. To commence this collaborative communication approach:
<ol>
 <li>Firstly, download the free TippyTalk Mobile application.</li>
 <li>Consider installing the app on two separate devices—one for personal use and one for the TippyTalk user.</li>
 <li>Purchase a subscription.</li>
 <li>Proceed with setting up the TippyTalker profile and subsequently inviting friends and family for participation.</li>
</ol>
Once the app setup is completed:
<ul>
 <li>Managers proceed by personalizing the TippyTalker's preferences within the app.</li>
 <li>Inviting friends and family members to join the TippyTalker's Community group.</li>
 <li>TippyTalkers themselves utilize an iPad, tablet, or even mobile phones to create basic sentences by selecting from available pictorial prompts. These selections can be converted into written messages that are read aloud or shared with Community Members privately.</li>
 <li>Community Members respond to these messages via text, video clips, or audio recordings.</li>
</ul>
If specifically invited to communicate with a TippyTalk user through the app interface, one assumes the role of Community Member. The forthcoming tasks entail:
<ol>
 <li>Downloading the complimentary TippyTalk Mobile app.</li>
 <li>Upon acceptance of the Manager's invitation on your smartphone device:</li>
 <ul><li>Receive incoming messages,</li></ul></li>
 <ul><li>Respond by sharing video content, images, audio recordings, or written responses to be vocalized aloud.</li></ul></li></ul></ol>
